This course is organized to cover aspects with particular emphasis in Mediterranean species, the objective being that at the end of the course participants will be in a position to: o Better understand the challenges of global aquaculture production and the need for alternative raw materials for a continued sustainable growth of the farming industry. o Know how different way materials contribute to fish nutrition and have criteria to appropriately select them. o Be familiar with modern feed formulation principles and the contribution of technology for optimizing fish diets. o Recognize the influence of novel fish diets on fish health and welfare o Be aware of relationships between fish nutrition and the final quality of fish products and their importance in human nutrition. o Improve food safety by avoiding or minimizing undesirable components in fish feeds to meet legal and market requirements. o Better manage the effects of fish nutrition on the environment. |
