Course Description:
10-day-long course with the topic of ‘Molecular biology in the field of aquaculture’ with invited speakers such as Ferenc Müller, PhD., senior lecturer at the Division of Reproductive and Child Health, School of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, College of Dental and Medical Sciences, University of Birmingham, UK; and prof. László Orbán, PhD., director of Reproductive Genomics Group at Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory and Department of Biological Sciences, National University of Singapore.

Recent developments in molecular biology, biotechnology and genetics have opened in the last years. Hungarian scientists are leading researchers in the area of technological innovations thus our course can teach the participants in aquaculture to:
a)    the recent knowledge of theory, eg.: fish models in embriology and genetics, and transgenesis  and recent genetic manipulation technologies in zebrafish;
b)    practical knowledge of molecular biology, biotechnology and genetics, like microinjection, analysis of fluorescence reporter expression;
c)    breeding adaptation and utilization within this field, like genetics and genomics of gonad determination and differentation.
